Worldwide photovoltaic installations increased by 1,744 MW in 2006, up from 1,460 MW installed during the previous year. In 1985, annual solar installation demand was only 21 Megawatts.
Renewable Resource
Solar energy is a renewable resource. It will not pollute our air with carbon dioxide and other harmful greenhouse gases and bad emissions. It can be used to heat water, dry clothes, heat swimming pools, power attic fans, power small appliances, produce light for both indoors and outdoors, and even to power cars, among other things.
